Mud Hen Tavern

A few weeks ago a few friends (about 12-13) met up at Mud Hen Tavern.
This place was previously called Street, which was one of my favorite restaurants, they offered a good amount of vegan options, so I was excited to see the new place. I have always been a fan of Susan Feniger, I used to watch her on the Food Network show Too Hot Tamale so I am always happy to go to her restaurants.

When I walked in I noticed the restaurant was much more open, it had a good vibe to it. All of the people coming from Orange County arrived early, we never can predict LA traffic, so we tend to leave early just in case. Their bar has such trendy drinks on it, whiskey, gin all made into fancy drinks that I wouldn't of thought of.

When everyone arrived we went to our tables immediately, now its time to decide what we order. I think we all wanted to order everything on the menu that was vegan. We had went a few weeks early so I already knew that their pierogis are absolute heaven. So those were a must, after looking at the menu, we also decided to order their black bean burger, onion rings, pumpkin ravioli, walnut chorizo tostada. Of course saving room for dessert.

When the food arrived we couldn't help but have smiles on our face, the food was that good. The spinach potato pierogi with roasted beets and horseradish we absolute heaven in your mouth. The pumpkin ravioli had such a great creamy texture inside. Crunchy onion rings and a nice spicy black bean burger. Everything was really good, one of Mikes favorite was the tostada, the walnut chorizo will make you never miss meat. It's that good and is topped with avocado salsa. The only dessert they offer for vegans is the Mocha cake, oh bummer because its the dark chocolate caek with espresso mouse topped with the hazelnut caramel. Completely something not to miss

make sure to go no run to check out Mud Hen Tavern

Reboot with Joe

So for the last 8 days some friends and I (facebook ones) have been doing the 10 day reboot with Joe.
You can find information here

Reboot with Joe

Basically its to break the cycle of bad eating habits. There are days you eat a lot of food, and others it seems like juice and soup. There is no gluten and I think that has helped the most, no stomache bloat.
I think it definitely helped that my husband has joined me for the most part on this mission. Except he refused to give up his nightly dark chocolate.... and a glass of red wine when my sister came to visit.

Some of this has been challenging like all the prepping and cooking you have to do. It can take hours. But it will be worth it in the end, because we have gotten plenty of fruts and vegetables and no processed vegan junk food.

I don't own a scale so I can not measure if I have lost weight but I know for sure I feel better and no bloat is the biggest thing for me.

I recommend giving it a try even for a few days nothing but good will come of it
